Course Description

Are you an educator wondering if there's an offramp from over work and under pay? Self-employment is one way to think outside the boxes created by the education system. Join me for a talk given to TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) on how to think about using your skills outside the classroom, the library, and the lab.

This talk will give you ideas for how to think about who your clients are and how to reach them. We will talk about the ins and outs of self-employment finances and why you should incorporate if you are paying for healthcare independently in the U.S.

If you are working as an adjunct / sessional or itinerant teacher, you have already accepted financial instability and risk. Why not take control of that risk and put it to work for you?

Join me for a journey beyond the job market.
